Our writing programme is based on ‘Our Writing Cycle’ where children examine a model text of the text type that they are studying, empowered through learning about the relevant features, skills and techniques and then plan and write in that genre. The cycle ends with a self or peer-assessment when the children’s work is celebrated.

Writing for a purpose is important, and we want children to be excited about the writing process. Therefore, we find ways to engage and excite the children through experiences or literature.

Over the course of the year, the children will write for a range of purposes.
