Welcome to Willow Class!

We are thrilled to welcome you and your child to our Year 3 and 4 mixed class for this exciting academic year! Our classroom is a vibrant and nurturing environment where learning comes to life, fostering curiosity and creativity in every student.

In our mixed-age class, your child will experience the benefits of collaborative learning and immersion. We believe that every child brings unique strengths and perspectives, and by working together, they can inspire and motivate one another. Our curriculum is designed to engage students in a variety of subjects, including literacy, maths, science, and the arts, while also integrating important social and emotional learning experiences.

Throughout the year, students will participate in hands-on projects, group activities, and experiments that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving. We will explore topics that excite their imaginations and challenge them academically, all while cultivating a love for learning. Each child's individual needs and learning styles are prioritised, ensuring personal growth and development.

Reading is central to our curriculum, and I encourage you to continue sharing stories with your child. There's no age limit to the joys of listening to someone read!

Communication is key to a successful school year, and we encourage an open dialogue between home and school. We will keep you updated on classroom activities, student progress, and important events through newsletters, our class website and your child’s planners.

Homework will be assigned on Thursdays, and we kindly ask that you ensure your child has the time to complete it and return it by Tuesday. English will be in homework books and Maths homework online with Sum Dog. Children also have 10 spellings to practice in preparation for our weekly spelling test on Fridays. This practice reinforces their learning and revisits concepts from previous weeks and years, as well as helps them prepare for upcoming topics.

PE sessions will take place on Wednesdays and Fridays.
